The league ran smoothly despite the Pandemic. We have been through a lot during these dark times and we hope things can be better. Please remember to stay safe and follow the guidelines given by us.
It was a very smooth first week after the recovery phase. Thank you to all of you that it is involved in this league and we would also like to apologise to the supporters for being unable to cheer for your favorite team in the court.
Let’s continue to talk about what happened last week in UCSI.
Division 1

Bayang Gelap Kings VS UBSA
In the 1st quarter, Bayang Gelap Kings looked disoriented and UBSA took heavy advantage of it. With the help of Tamil, UBSA dominated Bayang Gelap Kings in the 1st quarter. Little did UBSA know, Bayang Gelap started to capitalize on their mistake and zoned them out to make risky shots…and it paid off.
The Kings were careful with their play and ran them over the rest of the game. It was a very tough game for both teams because of the new SOP to follow. In the end, Kings checkmated UBSA and stole the win.
Check out the video below for the interview:
GoStrong Vs Pegasus
In the first half, it was a slow-paced game. Both teams suffered from serious lack of firepower. With the absence of Syahrul Ridzuan and Luke for GoStrong, their wing took a heavy beating. Despite GoStrong’s shortcomings, Michael and Suresh outplayed Pegasus with great coordination.
According to GoStrong’s Izzat, believing in the coach is the key to victory. Their strategy involved proper observation and planning on the first half where they try to keep the game’s pace in check. Try not to blow out or give points away too much.
Playing with only 6 players on the court is tough. The key here is to score enough to win and control the opponent’s pacing.
NGAP vs Titans Elite
Despite having only 7 players on the field by Titans, it was an astounding victory for them. Demolishing NGAP with over 22 points, Titan’s themselves were surprised with the results. Everyone turned up on Titan that night.
Maegan, Ali and Saifulrizan lighted dominates in both ends of the court.
Hurricanes vs Phantoms
Phantoms took the W by capitalizing in the paint and fast breaks. Izran Edika, one of the key players for Phantoms is back on the field. We managed to get some quick questions from Edika.
Unlike any other teams facing roster issues, Phantoms managed to piece themselves perfectly. “Everyone wants a piece of basketball right now.” Except for Brooklyn Emerson the young star on MABA Cup came with an unfortunate injury this game but he is expecting to play next week.
Adrie from Phantoms is still preparing for SUKMA and it’s a great exposure for him as well.
It was an okay game for Izran but it has its difficult moments when Hurricanes suddenly managed to tie on Q3. But in the end we persevered and got the win.
And here is the standings of the game.
